Ace Stories & Testimonials

I participated in Ace Chat because I had never talked to someone who was Ace. I knew being Ace wasn't bad, but it was nice talking to someone who really understood what it meant to be Ace.

Crystal

To be part of the A-spec community is to learn more about different types of relationships and attraction, and that information makes me feel like I'm learning and growing, giving me more than just a community of people who understand me.

Eli

Ace rep is really important to me because I never recognized the signs of being ace when I was younger. Being straight was default. I want people to have the info they need to understand themselves. I share my story whenever I can and am out in my real life and if I can help one person accept themselves then it will be worth it.

Rebecca

Ace Chat is worth supporting because there are important and necessary conversations about the aspec experience, in the broad sense and in the more nuanced and personal sense, that we need to be having. Let's talk about how we actually live and experience (or don't experience) relationships and feelings authentically instead of being desensitized or conflicted by the messages we receive and internalize about what and how we're "supposed" to feel.

Brandi

I participated in this interview because I have a lot of things to say about ace topics and being ace and having representation for me and people like me is something I'm very passionate about. Representation and visibility, especially for a-spec identities, helps us feel like our experiences, like those of other people in the LGBTQ+ community, are normal. They give us someone to relate to in a positive way.
